A Ford lançou oficialmente nos Estados Unidos a versão 2013 do Fusion, com eventos simultâneos em cinco cidades na terça-feira. Em Nova York, a cerimônia ocorreu na Times Square, onde o presidente e CEO da Ford, Alan Mulally, comprometeu-se em oferecer veículos com maior economia de combustível.
"Estamos absolutamente comprometidos em ter a liderança em economia de combustível como uma razão de compra dos veículos Ford, dando aos consumidores a chance de escolher o motor mais eficiente e que se adapte ao seu estilo de vida", afirmou. Los Angeles, Detroit, São Francisco e Miami foram os outros locais onde aconteceram os eventos.
De acordo com a montadora, o Fusion 2013 terá versão híbrida e com motores EcoBoost a gasolina. No modelo híbrido (com motor elétrico), o carro tem autonomia de 20 km/l, sendo o mais econômico da categoria nos Estados Unidos.
